Assistant Professor Yeşilyurt, Head of Social Work Department, made statements on the subject. Yeşilyurt's explanations are as follows: "According to the decision taken at the meeting of the Council of Higher Education dated 15.01.2021, it was deemed appropriate to open a Social Work Master's Program within the Social Sciences Institute of our university.
It is important that our graduate program, which will carry out educational activities by using the infrastructure, technical team and equipment of the Faculty of Health Sciences, will train experienced, well-equipped, scientific and highly experienced Social Workers/Social Workers. The expert social workers we will train are expected to contribute to the development of practices and social policies regarding the problems that individuals, families and society may encounter, by conducting research on the socio-economic and social problems of the region. I would like to thank our Rector, Professor Dr Fethi Ahmet Polat, for his unwavering support in the opening of the Master's program with thesis. I would also like to thank the Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, Professor Dr Hüseyin Kırımoğlu, who supported the process. I hope that the Social Work Thesis Master's Program, which will train Social Workers for our country, will be beneficial for Muş and our region.”
