In the seminar held at Sebahattin Zaim Conference Hall, Prof. Dr. Mustafa YILMAZ said, "According to seasonal transitions, epidemics can be seen frequently in the transition from autumn to winter and in the transition from winter to spring, both due to factors and host-related characteristics. There is an increase in many agents that are characterized as family infections. According to their clinical forms, gastroenteritis (diarrhea, etc.) can be seen frequently in summer and spring; upper respiratory tract infections and pneumonia (cold/flu, etc.) can be seen in winter. Sometimes, epidemics turn into pandemics and can infect large masses of people. Measles, Rubella, Rota Virus, Entero Virus, Picorna Viruses (COVID, SARS, etc.), Mumps, and Varicella outbreaks can be seen during seasonal transitions. Rarely, viral meningitis can cause serious health problems. Upper respiratory tract infections (Streptococcus / Red, Haemophilus, Pneumococcal infections) can cause epidemics among bacterial agents. Among these agents, Haemophilus can cause meningitis outbreaks, especially in children under five years of age, and pneumococci can cause meningitis outbreaks in adults."

The seminar, which was attended by many academicians and students from different departments who were interested in the seminar, ended with the presentation of a certificate of appreciation to Prof. Dr. Mustafa YILMAZ by Faculty of Health Sciences Vice Dean Dr. Lecturer Özmen İSTEK after the question and answer session.
